BIO

What would a collaboration between Fela Kuti and Juana Cruz — Camarón’s mother — sound like? Or between Don Tolvier and Mala Rodríguez? If anyone can pull those worlds together today, it is Cristina Vela (Seville, 1998), aka la Juicy BAE. A multidisciplinary artist, and an early starter: she trained as a flamenco dancer from the age of three, and built a world of her own that runs from deep-song poetry and street fashion to every shade of urban music.

She debuted in 2017 with “Smok wit u”, recorded in her home studio, and followed it with the EPs On My First Shifts, No More Tearz 2 Cry and La Noche Ke Me Muera before the leap of PTSD (2022), her visual album produced by PMP alongside her band, Ass Music. Then came Antes de Conocerte (Parte I: Premonición) (2023) and El Secreto (2025) — fifteen tracks with Hoke, La Zowi, Villano Antillano and AKRIILA that won the 2026 MIN Award for Best Urban Music Recording. Her latest move: the reggaeton mixtape Perreando a Escondidas (2026).

Backed by Duki from the very start, she is a go-to collaborator on both sides of the Atlantic: she released “Arrepentío” with Nicki Nicole, Aleesha and Taichu, and La Joaqui, Dano, Recycled J, ABHIR and Sticky M.A. have all wanted her on their records. Her blend of R&B, afrobeat and soul-tinged trap with flamenco-inflected bars has made her an artist’s artist: other leading names in the scene routinely cite her as a reference.

Live, no stage is too big: Sónar, Primavera Sound, Festival BAM and Lollapalooza Argentina, the closing night of her first LATAM tour. Next up: La Riviera, Madrid.
